The Beginning
There was a time in my life when survival wasn’t just a mindset—it was my only option. At 16, I was a homeless single mother, holding my son in my arms, wondering how I would feed him, where we would sleep, and if we would ever escape the cycle of struggle. The world wasn’t kind to young women like me—those who had no safety net, no guidance, and no roadmap to success.
I didn’t have a mentor. I didn’t have financial support. But I had grit. I worked tirelessly, failing and starting over more times than I can count. I learned business the hard way—through trial, error, and sheer determination. Eventually, I built my own businesses, created financial independence, and rewrote my future. But something was missing.
I looked around and saw so many women stuck in the same place I had been—brilliant, capable, ambitious, but lacking resources and direction. That’s when EmpowerHer Journey was born.
Why This Matters
EmpowerHer Journey is more than just a nonprofit—it’s a lifeline for single mothers and women with entrepreneurial dreams who don’t know where to start. We provide mentorship, financial literacy education, networking opportunities, and startup resources to help women build real, sustainable businesses that lead to independence.
We don’t just teach women how to make money.
We teach them how to own their future—so they never have to depend on anyone else again.
A Story of Transformation
Meet Sophia—a mother of two who came to EmpowerHer Journey with nothing but a dream. She had no business background, no savings, and no idea where to begin. But she had passion. Through our mentorship program, she learned how to build a business, secure funding, and market her services.
